Inverness 2018
Located in a village on the coast of the Northumberland Straight, this Cape Breton Arts Centre is a fantastic place to be creative. The Inverness County Centre for the Arts is a vibrant hub for exhibitions, community events, theatre, education and a beautifully large studio space for us artists in residence. We made two thirds of the large space our own and it was a real treat to be able to spread out! For a change of pace, we visited the beach and went for long walks to unwind after a long day in the studio.
PROCESS
During this residency, we realized our process had changed and our imagery was getting a lot more complicated. We really pushed ourselves while working on “The Organelle Cluster” and “Spiralling Life Force” using colours and materials that were new to us. This resulted in our most colourful works to date.
EXHIBITION
Shared Energies: Momentum was our largest exhibition to date. We installed and filled the space with 83 finished pieces! The opening reception was a huge success as pieces were sold continually throughout the event.
